Watch your digestion:
- Avoid Wheat – it aggravates your stomach
- Avoid Dairy – it’s acidic
- Eat slowly and chew your food – breakdown of food is essential
- Alkalize your body – take lime juice in water and consume alkaline rich foods
- Eat plenty of fibre – it helps digest and keep food moving along
- Drink plenty of filtered water – it’s a great cleanser
Manage your sugars (insulin):
- Eat low carb and low GI – to avoid sugar highs and lows
- Eat good fats and oils – this slows the absorption of carbohydrates down
- Eat full fat options now and then – low fat can be cancerous e.g. margarines
- Lift weights regularly – it makes your muscles more insulin sensitive
- Avoid fruit and juices – they make you fat as they are packed full of sugars
- Eat little and often – it helps you burn more fat by keeping your metabolism raised
- Eat organic meat
Manage your stress (cortisol):
- Always eat breakfast – preferably within 30 mins of rising
- Don’t diet or miss meals – it stresses the body and messes up your metabolism
- Take time out to rest every day – to give your entire body a break
- Avoid alcohol – it will make you fat and is full of sugars
- Go to bed early and preferably before 11pm
- Reduce stimulants – they cause highs and lows e.g. coffee, sugar, alcohol
- Avoid processed foods – if it’s in a packet BEWARE !
- Train hard and smart
Get rid of toxins (oestrogens):
- Avoid the microwave
- Eat Organic when possible – so you eliminate pesticides & hormones
- Eat brightly coloured vegetables – contain more anti-oxidants, think rainbow !
- Avoid fluoride – It reduces your metabolism
- Don’t cook or heat food in plastics – it leaks into your food
- Avoid Beer – unless you want man boobies !
- Preferably use natural cosmetics – as toxins can be absorbed through the skin
- Eat cruciferous vegetables – they are great at eliminating toxins e.g. kale, broccoli, cabbage
This is a pretty comprehensive list and I know it may seem daunting but pick a couple and just start slowly. Master that habit and then move on. You’ve only got one body, so look after it.
